This is THE PLACE yacht owners can tap into my extensive experience in all things marine. With a comprehensive list of recommendations my clients can negotiate and close their deal with confidence. It does not matter if its a new or "experienced" vessel... knowing exactly what you're getting into is essential to successful vessel ownership.
For 2 decades I have worked in the Marine Industry in almost every capacity. I began rigging boats for a very large dealership in San Francisco. 16' to 45' they came to me empty fiberglass shells and left turn-key pleasure boats and yachts. After 2 years I moved to Naples, Florida and continued rigging. I was offered a position installing and repairing marine electronics. That company was sold and Key West was calling my name. I moved down and Campbell Yacht Services was born. Working from the 5 star Galleon Marina and Resort, I did everything from engine repair to electronics, provisioning, crew procurement and deliveries. I earned my Padi Dive Master Certification and began racing J. boats as trimmer and navigator. We sailed to class victories in both 1990 and 1991.
In the spring of 1992 I left Key West on the delivery of a lifetime... Executing a two handed Northern crossing of a 68' ketch to Barcelona. From Spain I traveled to Switzerland and spent the summer working free lance on lakes Constance and Lucerne. In 1993 I joined up with a good friend and owner of a Diesel Service shop in Marco Island. I spent 8 years contributing "hands on" to the tremendous growth of that shop (a factory dealer for Volvo, Yanmar and John Deere.) This shop was known as the areas foremost authority on Marine service and repair.
From there, I was called upon to prepare surveys for friends and clients. Completing: • Over 2000 private and purchase surveys. • Over 800 Insurance claims. • On and Off-hire surveys of 100+ foot commercial cruising vessels. • Established expert witness testimony and work. • Numerous builder-importer surveys for new construction.
I've owned my home here on Marco Island for 15 years now and I've been here as a full-time resident since 1993. We are here to stay. I am married to Kathy and have been blessed with two boys and a girl! I'm here, I know my business and rest assured, I can identify every system on any boat. I know how it works, how it should look and perhaps more importantly how it shouldn't look! I am an independent Surveyor Associate of SAMS, and member of ABYC. Utilizing the standards of both along with my extensive experience in engines and hulls, you get the comprehensive report that you need to make proper investment and insurance decisions. I serve clients from all over the globe.
"Your best interests and the safety of your family are my #1 concerns."
